Digital Objects Counter Kit: Upgraded Version

This upgraded digital objects counter kit is designed for various counting applications, featuring 2.3″ common cathode seven-segment displays. The kit utilizes the CD4026 decade counter for reliable performance.

How It Works

The device operates using a laser light module that continuously illuminates a photoresistor. When an object obstructs the laser light from reaching the photoresistor, the counter increments by one. This 3-digit digital counter is ideal for counting objects or people entering a room, making it a practical tool for engineers and hobbyists learning about digital counters.

Note: The device does not include a microcontroller, so it does not store the count. Once the device is powered off, the count resets to 000.

Features

  • Counting Range: The counter can tally from 001 to 999.
  • Type: This is an up-counter, meaning it only counts upwards and does not decrement.
  • Display Size: Each seven-segment display is 2.3 inches, providing clear and large numeric readouts.
  • Laser Range: The device can function with the laser placed up to 100 meters away, as long as the laser beam can adequately illuminate the photoresistor.
  • Power Supply: The counter operates with a 9V power supply, which must be precisely 9V to ensure proper functionality.
  • Dimensions: The overall dimensions of the device are 165mm x 91mm.

This kit is perfect for applications requiring object or people counting without the need for a microcontroller, making it both simple and effective for various practical uses.
