This advanced digital objects counter kit represents an upgrade from previous versions. It utilizes 1.8″ common cathode seven-segment displays and is based on the CD4026 decade counter IC.

How It Works:

The device employs a laser light module to continuously illuminate a photoresistor. When an object obstructs the laser beam, the photoresistor’s light intensity changes, triggering the counter to increment. This 3-digit digital objects counter is ideal for applications such as counting people or objects entering a room. It is also a useful educational tool for engineers learning about digital counters.

Note: The device lacks a microcontroller, so it does not retain the count when powered off. Each time the device is turned on, the count resets to 000.

The kit includes a large photoresistor to ensure efficient illumination by the laser, enhancing the device’s accuracy.

Features:

  • Counting Range: 001 to 999.
  • Counter Type: Up counter (does not count down).
  • Display Size: Each seven-segment display measures 1.8 inches.
  • Operational Distance: The distance between the counter module and the laser can be up to 100 meters, as long as the photoresistor is adequately illuminated.
  • Power Supply: Operates on a strict 6V power supply.
  • Dimensions: 132mm x 75mm.
